Winter break 2026 · base at Górka Szczęśliwicka

Winter ski
day camps

A winter break unlike any other. Skiing or snowboarding on a real slope at Szwajcaria Bałtowska, plus a swimming pool, trampolines, games and hot meals — for children aged 6–12.

A break unlike any other

We invite children aged 6–12 to winter day camps over the Mazovian break. Every day is a solid dose of physical activity and new skills.

The Szczęśliwice slope in Warsaw is closed for the 2025/2026 season due to redevelopment — but that is no problem for us. Drawing on previous seasons, we run the camps with full-day excursions to Szwajcaria Bałtowska. We have been professionally training children and adults in winter sports for years.

What a session looks like

3 training days in Bałtów

We leave in the morning and return to Warsaw in the evening. Coach transport with the gear (~2 h each way).

Skis or snowboard

Learning or skilling up on skis or a snowboard, at various levels.

Professional staff

No random people work with us — we have an established team we have collaborated with for years.

All-day care 8:00–17:30

We look after the children Monday to Friday, all day long.

Training on the slope

Ski and snowboard training runs in small, carefully matched groups. Beginners train in groups of max 4, so the instructor can give each child proper attention. Children who already ride join groups of max 10.

Participants are split by level — and if a group’s pace turns out too fast or too slow, a child moves smoothly to another group. Beginners start on the nursery slope with a tape tow; intermediates use the full infrastructure (drag lifts and chairlift), and the most advanced train in a more sporty way — with an instructor in the snowpark.

There are two sessions a day: a morning one (2 h) and an afternoon one (1.5 h), with a hot lunch by the slope in between. Children are supervised by instructors at all times, with carers always on site. Each session includes three full-day trips to Bałtów.

What else we do during the week

Gravity Station

2 h jumping
A modern trampoline park for children, a 13-minute walk from our base. Children learn controlled jumps, spins and safe movement on the trampolines — there is something for everyone.

Swimming pool

2 h swimming
The pool on Racławicka St., about a 20-minute walk. There is a shallow pool for younger children plus a larger pool and a water slide. Lifeguards and our carers watch over safety.

Sledging or a field game

Depending on the weather: a field game in Park Szczęśliwicki (puzzles, movement challenges, teamwork) or sledging on snow tubes (we provide them on site).

Ski & snowboard workshops

Children get to know the gear and learn how to choose and put it on, plus slope safety. We compare skis and boards (slalom, giant, freestyle, all-round) and profiles (camber, rocker, hybrid). This is also when we fit gear for those renting from us.

Lunches

Lunches at the Stara Kuźnia restaurant in Park Szczęśliwicki and at the restaurant by the slope in Bałtów. We go for simple, home-style food children like (nuggets, potatoes, bolognese, breaded cutlet). Meat-free or special-diet options on request. We provide lunches and water — breakfasts and snacks are brought by parents.

The slope — Szwajcaria Bałtowska

A modern, complete ski resort in Bałtów (Holy Cross Mountains) — one of the closest resorts to Warsaw with such developed infrastructure. Coach transport (~2 h); we bring the gear with us.

6 runs totalling about 2.3–2.5 km, of varying difficulty — mostly blue, plus gentle green “nursery” runs for beginners. The longest run is about 700 m. The whole area has snowmaking, grooming and lighting.

Lifts
  • 4-person chairlift, about 500 m
  • Two drag lifts (about 400 m each)
  • Conveyor (tape) tow — nursery slope

Skill levels

At sign-up you fill in a qualification card — based on it and a first-day assessment we assign the group. During the session a child can move up when the pace allows.

0
Beginner

Cannot brake independently on skis / cannot ride backside on a board. Needs the instructor alongside at all times.

1
Beginner +

Brakes with a snowplough (ski) / slides on backside (snowboard). Moves independently on the nursery slope.

2
Basic

Brakes and turns with a snowplough / rides frontside and backside. Descends easy runs under control.

3
Intermediate

Rides parallel across the slope and ploughs in turns / switches front–back on a board. Manages medium gradients.

4
Advanced

Parallel turns the full length of the slope / smooth edge-to-edge on a board. Rides dynamically.

Equipment recommendations

  • Skis for complete beginners — at most shoulder height (it speeds up learning).
  • Skis for those moving to parallel turns — shoulder height (more stability at speed).
  • Poles are not needed for children who do not yet ride parallel.
  • Snowboard (any level): in the chin-to-nose range.
  • Helmet — strictly mandatory (included with rented gear).
  • Two pairs of waterproof gloves (never wool).
  • Goggles or sunglasses (recommended) and trousers wide enough to fit over the boots.

Gear can be left at the Szczęśliwice base all week (Mon–Fri) — we have a storage room.

Our team

Our team are always-smiling, committed and experienced coaches and carers — working with children for years in sport and in educational settings. Ski sessions are led by coaches who train competitive athletes day to day and have experience across levels — from first steps to sport training. We do not work with random people; we value responsibility, punctuality and high qualifications.

Safety and formalities

The camps are registered with the Recreation Database and the Education Authority. The price includes accident (NNW) insurance up to PLN 10,000. At sign-up you complete a participant qualification card, and the camp regulations are available on request.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need our own equipment?
No. A full set (boots, skis or board, helmet, poles) can be rented for PLN 99 per session. We store the gear at the Szczęśliwice base all week. A helmet is mandatory; we recommend goggles and two pairs of waterproof gloves.
Learning from zero — how does it work?
Complete ski beginners buy an add-on with small-group instruction (max 4) — it cannot be run safely otherwise. They start on the nursery slope and tape tow learning to brake, and once they control their speed they join larger groups. On a snowboard braking is easier, so such small groups are not needed.
What about meals and diets?
The price includes 5 hot lunches (simple, home-style dishes) and drinking water all week. Vegetarian and allergy-adapted options on request. Breakfasts and snacks are brought by parents.
Where do children leave gear overnight?
Every participant can leave skis or a board overnight in our storage room at CSN Szczęśliwice, Monday to Friday.
Will there really be snow?
Yes. We have run trips to Bałtów for many seasons and January has never lacked conditions. In the event of an exceptional weather event, we have backup slopes a similar distance away: Niestachów, Krajno, Parchatka, Kamieńsk.
What age and level?
For children aged 6–12, from first contact with skis/board (level 0) to advanced (level 4). At sign-up you fill in a qualification card that helps assign the group.

Places fill up before the break
